Details: | Keep the Beat, an annual fundraiser for War Child Canada, is back with new events. This year’s all-day music event also includes an art auction, live music and merchandise. Stuff for Sale Teachers, parents and students are able to charge everything to their school account, but are encouraged people to bring cash, especially for the wandering musicians. Merchandise: T-shirts ($15), Sunglasses ($7), CDs ($5) and USBs ($12) Food: Granola bars, samosas, lemonade, taco bar Raffle Tickets: Enter to win an acoustic guitar or a colorful ukelele Art Auction: a day-long silent auction, with the highest bid at the end of the day winning the piece. Tickets: Talent Show ($6), Dance ($11), or Two in one ($15) Schedule 9:10 - 9:40: Chapel Presentation about Keep the Beat by the Arts Council 10:35 - 10:50: Merchandise and snacks on sale in the quad 11:50 - 1:15: Open mic concert in the Christine Duke and merchandise and food on sale in the quad 3:30 - 5:00: Drumming circle in the Christine Duke 6:50 - 8:30: Formal talent show featuring Senior School student performers.Limited at the door tickets. Doors open at 6:30. [Advance tickets will be on sale at school May 24-27 in the library and quad and through email (KTB.talentshow@gmail.com) to reserve tickets or charge them to their school account. Tickets can be purchased at the door space provided.] 8:00 - 11:00: Senior School Dance: Theme is Rappers and Divas All Day Raffle tickets being sold by Veronica Li (1st place winner gets an acoustic guitar!) Silent Art Auction: Music-themed artwork created by senior school students will be on display in the board room from 11:30 am to 9:00 pm Wandering musicians will be traveling to different classrooms and playing music. Bring change and small bills to donate after the musician plays a song! |
