| Details: | Dear Junior School Parents, Initially, we intended this to be a night to provide parents with some experiences that may be similar to those your child is having or will be having in class that may help you support the learning at home. However, as we began to plan the evening, it became clear to us that, initially, some background information may be beneficial. Accordingly, we have shifted the focus of the evening. We would like to take the opportunity, on Nov. 23, to provide you with the underpinnings of our balanced approach to mathematics at the Junior School, also hearing from math teachers from the Middle School and Senior School. Study after study has shown that the messages we send as parents to our children about math impact math performance and success. We see this as an opportunity to deepen our partnership in your child's journey at the Junior School by including you in the learning. This evening is the first of what we hope becomes a regular series for our community. Wine and cheese will be served at 6:30 pm, moving to the gym for a presentation at 6:45.
